Grim Howland is an attorney at Meshbesher & Spence. His practice focuses on advocating for individuals after serious injuries, including:
- Defective Product Injuries
- Dog Bites
- Medical Malpractice
- Personal Injury
- Workers’ Compensation
- Wrongful Death
Grim joins Meshbesher & Spence from a Minnesota-based civil litigation firm representing injured clients in complex matters. Earlier in his career, he practiced primarily as a defense attorney handling catastrophic injury defense and construction defect litigation. His work has since focused on representing plaintiffs in personal injury and workers’ compensation cases, including clients whose insurance companies have attempted to deny the existence of coverage after an accident.
At trial and before the Minnesota Court of Appeals, he has achieved significant success by relying on a thoughtful and scholarly approach to persuade both judges and juries. Through thorough and dogged litigation tactics, he has earned the respect of his opponents and the esteem of his clients. His superb communication skills and empathetic nature contribute to his effectiveness as an advocate.
For three consecutive years (2012, 2013, and 2014), he was selected as a Minnesota “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers. This accolade is awarded to only 2.5 percent of practicing attorneys in Minnesota who are either under 40 years old or have been practicing for less than 10 years. He was also selected as a “Top 100 Trial Lawyer” in 2014.
A graduate of St. Olaf College, Grim holds a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota and is an honors graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping.
