Washington, California file lawsuit against J&J over pelvic mesh implants.

The AP (5/24, Johnson) reports that the Attorneys General of Washington and California filed a lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson, alleging that “for years the company misrepresented the risks of vaginal mesh implants it sold to repair pelvic collapse.” The lawsuit claims that J&J neglected to inform patients and physicians “about the risks and occurrences of dire, sometimes irreversible complications,” including “urinary dysfunction, loss of sexual function, constipation and severe pain.” Reuters (5/24, Dye) also covers the story.
