Forde v. Geo M. Martin Company – Box Stacking Machine Malfunctions, Causing Traumatic Brain Injury

In this case, an unreasonably dangerous box stacking machine caused an accident at a Minneapolis factory. On his third day on the job, a new employee who had no formal training was operating the machine, which malfunctioned, pinching his head in the machine and causing a severe brain injury. The jury awarded this employee the largest personal injury, products liabiliyt, and brain injury verdict in Minnesota’s history.
Verdict: $35.3 million
