If you’re a parent, chances are you’ve heard about the importance of keeping young kids in booster seats until they’re of a certain height and weight. According to the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety, children should be placed in a booster seat after outgrowing their car seat, until they’re 4′ 9″ tall or age 8 (but going by height is recommended).
This year, the Office of Traffic Safety has a downloadable valentine card for elementary school teachers to print that includes information about how booster seats work properly. Kids can color the valentine and hand it to their parents this Valentine’s Day to promote child car safety law awareness. The OTS website includes an entire section devoted to child passenger safety, with car seat check information and even videos for parents to watch.
