Minneapolis officers injured in squad car crash

A Minneapolis police squad car slammed into another vehicle overnight, causing the other car to crash into a downtown building.

Two officers who suffered minor injuries were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where they were treated and released, a Minneapolis police shift supervisor said.

The crash occurred about 12:15 a.m. at the insection of 2nd Av. N. and 3rd St., according to media reports.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged. Three people, including two officers, were taken to the hospital. The extent of the other driver's injury was not immediately released.

Few other details, including which driver was at fault, were available this morning.
